$30 Student Membership Donate $30 and email a copy of your student/educator ID to info@poetrysocietyny.org to receive all the benefits of a standard membership.

$50 Standard Membership Donate $50 to receive an invitation to PSNY's annual spring gala, to gain access to the VIP parlor in the Commanding Officer's Quarters at The New York City Poetry Festival, and to get 20% off General Admission tickets to The Poetry Brothel. Standard Memberships also come with PSNY lapel pin!

$100 Gold Membership Donate $100 to receive all the benefits of an Standard Membership, plus a PSNY notebook and tote bag. 

$250 Poetry Brothel Membership Donate $250 to receive all the benefits of a Gold Membership, plus free admission to any Poetry Brothel event as well as 50% off admission for your guests. 

$500 Poetry Brothel Platinum Membership Donate $500 and receive all the benefits of a Poetry Brothel Membership, plus free VIP Admission to The Poetry Brothel and 50% off General or VIP Admission for all guests. $2500 Allen Ginsburg Membership (Tax-Deductible Portion: $2475) Donate $2500 and receive all the benefits of a Frank O'Hara Membership, plus a $250 award in your name will be given to a poet for the artistic merit of his or her work.

Programs & Events Intern

The Poetry Society of New York is seeking an intern who will assist with the production of The Poetry Brothel, The New York City Poetry Festival, and other special events. The Programs & Events Intern will be responsible for assisting with set-up and breakdown of events; selling merchandise, stage managing, and other on-site duties during events; writing, editing, designing, and printing runs of show, stage plots, venue layouts, materials lists, and other production documents; writing, editing, designing, and distributing press releases, press kits, flyers and newsletters; working with the PR & social media team to coordinate event marketing efforts; pitching and communicating with venues, performers, audience, and supporters; and developing event ideas and seeing them through to their execution.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, intuitive, & independent worker
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong artistic aesthetic & attention to detail

Social Media Intern

The Poetry Society of New York is seeking an intern who will assist with social media marketing. Social Media intern will be responsible for developing and executing a creative and comprehensive social media strategy across multiple platforms; creating original written and visual content daily to publish across multiple platforms; tracking each platform's analytics, creating weekly reports, and setting & meeting numeric goals. strategically framing a message to engage diverse audiences, corresponding with followers about questions, concerns and opportunities, providing event support, including creating live content. 

Qualifications

  • Passionate about using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to communicate a strong message and identity and to share it with a like-minded audience
  • Interest in analytics; passion for setting & meeting follower and engagement goals
  • Experience using Canva or other graphic design software
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and visual
  • A sharp wit & artistic aesthetic
  • Self-motivated & independent worker
  • Ability to work remotely & during nonstandard business hours

The Poetry Society of New York is seeking an intern who will assist with fundraising, sales, and business development for the society and its projects. The Development Intern's responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) researching and identifying potential business opportunities and fundraising sources including grants, private donors, sponsors, members, clients, and other potential funding sources; writing letters of inquiry, assembling grant applications, and submitting them; maintaining a calendar of grants and other funding opportunities; writing, designing, and presenting sponsorship pitches and proposals; attending fundraising & networking events and making connections; maintaining relationships with grantmakers, sponsors, members, and other donors; and assisting with coordinating our Spring Gala and other members events throughout the year. Responsibilities may be supplemented with special projects and tasks that may come up.
